PHOTOTHERAPY PROTOCOLS

How to Use Your Patches

In most cases, phototherapy patches are applied to a collar or headband around the neck (on the inside, facing the dog). However, if treating something on the body, you can use a Medical Pet Shirt or Lick Sleeve to place patches locally around the area being treated.

Wear Time & Replacement:

Each patch is worn for 12 hours on, 12 hours off. The 12-hour break prevents the body from habituating to the patch, which keeps them working effectively.

Acute situations

(trauma, injury, sudden issues)

Use 1 patch for 1 treatment (12 hours), then replace with a fresh patch for the next 12-hour cycle.

Chronic or long-term issues

Use 1 patch for 2 treatments – 12 hours on, 12 hours off, then repeat for one more 12-hour cycle before replacing with a fresh patch.
